Dr. Jason Blowe has over 19 years of optical experience. Born and raised in Natchez, Mississippi, Dr. Blowe attended Alcorn State University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Dr. Blowe earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the prestigious Illinois College of Optometry, where he was also recognized with several honors. Dr. Blowe has acquired extensive clinical and management experience from externships through Davis Eye Associates in Winston-Salem, NC; the Illinois Eye Institute in Chicago; Omni Eye Services in Atlanta; Dr. Steinmetz and Associates in Naperville, IL; and the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center in Alabama. Dr. Blowe has performed and presented research on dry eye syndrome to the American Academy of Optometry.

As an active member of the optometric community, Dr. Blowe is the past president of the Georgia Chapter of the National Optometric Association. He is also a member of both the American Optometric Association and the Georgia Optometric Association, and a Life Member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.
Dr. Blowe currently resides with his wife in Gwinnett County. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, listening to good music, and spending time outdoors.

Although going without my prescriptions during the holidays has been tough - a delay from the lab during the busy holiday season and nothing to do with the eyecare center. That being said, overall an amazing business.

ChristineSeptember 28, 2022I have been a contact lens user for nearly 15 years and been using monthly contacts ever since. During my eye exam, Dr. Amaka had noticed something off and Dr. Blowe came in to double check. They informed me that I had "neovascularizations" in both of my eyes, basically that there were new tiny blood vessels growing because of a lack of oxygen flow. They explained that monthly contacts are a little thicker and most likely contributed to this and recommended daily, disposable contacts since they were cleaner and thinner. They had me try a pair on then and there and WOW! The difference was astounding. I could barely feel anything on my eyes. They gave me a week's worth of pairs from two different brands to see which I would like better. This was the MOST thorough eye exam/contact lens fitting I have ever had, and I have been going regularly to since I was a teen. My previous optometrist had written me a prescription for daily disposables but didn't really emphasize why it would be beneficial for me to switch over so I just stuck with monthlies. So a giant thank you to Dr. Blowe for being so informative, kind, and patient with all of my questions and also to Dr. Amaka for being thorough and spotting the problem in the first place! Shout out also to the practice manager Namia and the other young lady at reception (I didn't catch her name :/) . They were both very thorough with explaining my paper work and charges and even when they were running the preliminary tests on me before being seen by the doctors. I cannot recommend this practice enough. If you're looking for a new eye clinic, don't hesitate to give them a call.

Kimberly ReeseNovember 30, 2018Great practice! Having recently moved from Alpharetta to Lawrenceville, I needed a new eye doctor that was close by. I did a random Google search for 'eye doctors near me' and two places had great reviews (Now Eye See and another location). I reached out to the other location (via phone and email), as it was the closest in proximity to my home; however I never received a call back. So I reached out to Now Eye See online and someone called me within 30 minutes. Dr. Blowe is great! He was really patient and explained my vision problems in more detail than I've ever heard. The staff was super friendly and courteous, and didn't get frustrated or impatient with me when I took longer than I probably should have to decide on which frames to get. It's a lovely team of people and you won't disappointed if you visit this practice.

I think the staff that he has now is better far as conducting themselves professionally and friendly. I think that was why I stopped going initially because of the old staff, however the Doctor is very pleasant and friendly and always have time for questions! Keep up the Great Job Dr. Blowe!!!
